Pennings Foundation organiseert deze avond inclusief een kleine maaltijd vooraf samen met iedere keer weer een verrassende gastspreker die ons meeneemt in zijn/haar wereld van beeldtaal op een eigen, ludieke wijze.

De speciale editie van Fotokafeine op woensdag 28 februari krijgt het karakter van een workshop. Deze avond wordt verzorgd door Wiesje Peels. Het belooft een echte doe-avond te worden vanuit het makerschap. Creatief denken staat hierbij centraal. Je kunt je inschrijven als je actief bent in het creatieve proces, als student of beeldmaker.

Wiesje Peels (Eindhoven, 1975) volgde haar opleiding aan AKV|St. Joost in Breda. Jarenlang was ze docent aan de Academie voor Beeldende Vorming (Fontys Hogeschool) in Tilburg.

Ze werkte aan projecten “Mimus, (wat in 2014 in boek verscheen), Gogh Flow en Nest (een ongoing project). Voor de Mix Nederland (Stichting Beeldmix) fietste ze in mei en juni 2023 zes weken lang door de Brabantse Peel, met de DOKAR, een donkere kamer op wielen. Onderweg maakte ze op analoge wijze zwart-wit foto’s, geïnspireerd op de foto’s van Martien Coppens, ontwikkelde de filmrolletjes en drukte de foto’s af. Van 1 september t/m 31 oktober 2023 zijn haar foto’s samen met die van Martien Coppens te zien op het Centraal Station in Tilburg en op de campus van Tilburg University. FOTOKAFEINE: Eating & experiencing together

Fotokafeine is a meeting place for and by lovers of the image.

This special edition of Fotokafeine will have the character of a workshop.

Pennings Foundation organizes this evening, including a small meal beforehand, together with a surprising guest speaker who takes us into his/her world of visual language in his/her own, playful way.

The special edition of Fotokafeine on Wednesday, February 28 will take the form of a workshop. This evening is organized by Wiesje Peels. It promises to be a real hands-on evening from the maker's perspective. Creative thinking is central here. You can register if you are active in the creative process, as a student or image maker.

Wiesje Peels (Eindhoven, 1975) studied at AKV|St. Joost in Breda. For many years she was a teacher at the Academy for Visual Education (Fontys Hogeschool) in Tilburg.

She worked on projects “Mimus, (which was published in a book in 2014), Gogh Flow and Nest (an ongoing project). For the Mix Nederland (Stichting Beeldmix) she cycled through Brabant Peel for six weeks in May and June 2023, with the DOKAR, a dark room on wheels. Along the way, she took black-and-white photos in an analogue way, inspired by the photos of Martien Coppens, developed the rolls of film and printed the pictures. Her photos together with those of Martien Coppens were on show at Central Station in Tilburg and on the campus of Tilburg University.
