Docu Natlab

Tijdens de tentoonstellingen Mijn liefste Teun van Tahné Kleijn en Traces of War van Jan Banning wordt in Natlab in Eindhoven tweemaal de documentaire ‘Indië Verloren… Selling a colonial war’ (2023) van regisseur In-Soo Radstake vertoond. De data zijn: vrijdagavond 17 oktober en zondagmiddag 2 november 2025. 

De vertoning van de documentaire maakt deel uit van het randprogramma dat Pennings Foundation organiseert in het kader van beide genoemde tentoonstellingen om zowel verdieping als context te bieden. 

De documentaire van In-Soo Radstake werd in 2024 uitgeroepen tot winnaar van de Tegel. Het Juryrapport: 

‘Indië Verloren… Selling a colonial war’ van In-Soo Radstake is een knap gemaakte documentaire die laat zien hoe de Nederlandse politiek door middel van propaganda en censuur de koloniale oorlog in Indonesië probeerde te verkopen. Verrassend zijn ook het Amerikaanse, Australische én Indonesische perspectief op die oorlog en de propaganda aan de andere kant. Radstake is een neutrale verteller en gebruikt naast duiding van nationale en internationale experts uiteenlopend archiefmateriaal om zijn verhaal te vertellen. Dat oud-minister Ben Bot de Nederlandse propaganda vergelijkt met die van Poetin bij de oorlog in Oekraïne laat zien hoe actueel het thema is. Een historisch én journalistiek document dat tot denken aanzet.

Indië Verloren… Selling a colonial war 

Docu in Natlab 

During the exhibitions My Dearest Teun by Tahné Kleijn and Traces of War by Jan Banning, the documentary "Indië Verloren… Selling a colonial war" (2023) by director In-Soo Radstake will be shown twice at Natlab in Eindhoven. The dates are: Friday evening, October 17, and Sunday afternoon, November 2, 2025. 

The screening of the documentary is part of the side program organized by Pennings Foundation during the mentioned exhibitions to provide both depth and context.  

In 2024, In-Soo Radstake's documentary was declared the winner of the Tegel. The Jury Report: 

"Indië Verloren… Selling a colonial war" by In-Soo Radstake is a well-made documentary that shows how Dutch politics tried to sell the colonial war in Indonesia through propaganda and censorship. The American, Australian, and Indonesian perspectives on that war and the propaganda on the other side are also surprising. Radstake is a neutral narrator and uses various archival materials alongside explanations from national and international experts to tell his story. The fact that former minister Ben Bot compares Dutch propaganda to that of Putin in the war in Ukraine shows how current the theme is. A historical and journalistic document that makes you think 3.
