Prop ut Merrop

‘Prop ut Merrop’ is een verstilde film over de geslotenheid en de verborgen angsten 

van oud-Indië strijders, over nooit vertelde dromen en stille gedachten. 

De vader van dré didderiëns vertrok in 1946 als twintigjarige dienstplichtige naar Nederlands-Indië. Hij verbleef er tot 1949.  

"Voor het eerst kon ik met mijn vader over die tijd praten en ondanks dat hij nog steeds 

stil is, begrijp ik hem nu beter."

'Prop ut Merrop' is a contemplative film about the reticence and hidden fears of former Dutch East Indies soldiers, about never-told dreams and quiet thoughts. 

Dré didderiëns' father left for the Dutch East Indies in 1946 as a twenty-year-old conscript. He stayed there until 1949. 

"For the first time, I was able to talk to my father about that time, and although he is still quiet, I understand him better now."
