Artist Talk Martin & Inge Riebeek

De Artist Talk wordt georganiseerd in het kader van hun deelname aan de tentoonstelling VERLIES, die t/m 21 november is te zien bij Pennings Foundation.

Martin (1957) en Inge (1964) Riebeek studeerden beiden aan AKV| St. Joost. Sinds 2001 werken zij als duo. In de afgelopen 15 jaar verzamelden zij voor hun videoproject The Essential de verhalen van mensen over de wereld; in persoonlijke portretten vertellen mensen wat voor hen het belangrijkst is, wat essentieel is in hun leven. Het on-going project omvat inmiddels 600 videoportretten uit 25 landen. The Essential nodigt uit tot empathie, begrip en verbinding. Artist Talk

On Sunday, October 25, 2026, Martin & Inge Riebeek will hold an Artist Talk about their series 'The Essential'. The Artist Talk is organized as part of their participation in the exhibition LOSS, which is on show at Pennings Foundation until November 21, 2026. 

Martin (1957) and Inge (1964) Riebeek both studied at AKV| St. Joost. They have worked together as an artistic duo since 2001. Over the past 15 years, they have collected stories from people around the world for their video project The Essential: in personal portraits, individuals share what matters most to them—what is essential in their lives. The ongoing project now comprises 600 video portraits from 25 countries. The Essential invites viewers to empathy, understanding, and connection.
