Temidden van zijn expositie Warm Woensel West wordt fotograaf Kees Martens geïnterviewd door Rob Schoonen. Martens woont al dertig jaar in de Eindhovense wijk Woensel West. Bijzonder is dat hij al die jaren de ontwikkelingen in de wijk heeft gedocumenteerd, van sloop tot renovatie. Maar vooral ook heeft hij de bewoners van de wijk vastgelegd, niet alleen op straat maar ook in hun woningen.   

Jarenlang waren Kees Martens en Rob Schoonen collega’s bij het Eindhovens Dagblad. Schoonen was tot voor kort chef van de kunstredactie. De teksten in het boek Warm Woensel West, dat bij de expositie verscheen, zijn van zijn hand.

In the midst of his exhibition Warm Woensel West, photographer Kees Martens is interviewed by Rob Schoonen. Martens has been living in the Woensel West district of Eindhoven for thirty years. What is special is that he has documented the developments in the neighborhood all these years, from demolition to renovation. But above all, he also captured the residents of the neighborhood, not only on the street but also in their homes. 

Kees Martens and Rob Schoonen were colleagues at the Eindhovens Dagblad for many years. Until recently, Schoonen was chief of the art editors. The texts in the book Warm Woensel West, which was published to accompany the exhibition, are his.
